To promote transparency in water permitting, the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection Division of Water (DOW) has published an easy-to-use, ArcGIS-based Public Notice Viewer. The tool provides interested parties an opportunity to see active public notices on a county map to help them zero in on the community information they seek. DOW will continue to refine the viewer based on feedback received.
The Division provides a public notice process for Kentucky’s Pollutant Discharge Elimination System and other wastewater permits, Water Quality Certifications, State Planning & Environmental Assessment Reports, and environmental findings associated with State Revolving Fund-funded projects through documents for Findings of No Significant Impact.
